Aatu Kaal (Goat Leg) Sambar is differently cooked with Thoor Dhal (Thuvaram Paruppu), tastes different .. mmm..
Servings – 4 Persons
Aatu Kaal (8nos)
Ginger Garlic Paste (2tsp)
Thoor Dhal (1 cup) (Thuvaram Paruppu)
Turmeric Powder (1/4 tsp)
Dry Red Chillies (4nos)
Shallots or Onion (Chopped 1/2 cup)
Tomato (Chopped 1/2 cup)
Curry Leaves (2sprigs)
Brinjal (Cut lengthwise into 4-6 equal parts – 1cup)
Chilli Powder (2tsp)
Coriander Powder (2tsp)
(or use our home made Sambhar Powder-4tsp)
Tamarind Pulp (1/4 cup)
Corriander leaves (1/4 cup chopped)
Clean and Pressure cook Aatu Kaal (Goat Leg) with ginger garlic paste, Thoor Dal (thuvaram paruppu), turmeric powder and with sufficient water. And Keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan, saute dry red chillies, onion (or Shallots), tomatoes, clove, cinnamon, curry leaves and brinjal. Pour less water, for the vegetables to be cooked.
When vegetables are soft, add the cooked Aatu Kaal (Goat Leg) , Dhal, chilli powder, dhaniya powder and salt (or use our home made sambar powder-4tsp) and tamarind pulp.
Leave it to boil, in low flame. Aatu Kaal (Goat Leg) Sambar should be thick.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Dole our hot with Rice or with Idly/Dosai.
