Coconut grinded with green chillies and fried bengal dal, a favourite & regular chutney, all over India.

Servings: 4 Persons


Coconut (1cup grated)

Green Chillies (5nos split)

Fried Bengal Gram (1cup)

Salt (to taste)

For Seasoning;

– Mustard (¼tsp)

– Split Urad dal (¼tsp)

– Curry Leaves (2sprigs)

– Red Chillies (2nos)

– Asafoetida (2 pinches)

– Oil (2tsp)


In a pan, heat oil, fry green chillies, add them to Mixer & keep the pan aside.

Grind Coconut, Green chillies, salt & fried bengal gram, to paste, use required  water.

For seasoning, Heat oil in the pan, add mustard, dal,  when mustard splutters, add Asafoetida , curry leaves & Red chllies and pour it on Chutney.


Dole out Yummy Coconut Chutney, tastes good with Idly / Dosa / Uppma / Bajji.
