Ground Nuts are called as GNuts in Uganda. Ebinyewa is the local name for this GNut Sauce in Luganda, the language spoken by Ugandan people. This sauce is very famous all over Eastern Africa. This sauce has many versions, with your choice of meat, with dry fish, with vegetables. This Sauce is taken with Matoke, Ugali (Posho) in Eastern Africa.

Ground Nuts – 1 cup
Onion – 1 chopped finely
Tomato – 1 chopped finely
Salt – to taste
Grind GNuts to paste, with 3 cups of water.
Heat the grounded paste in low flame, stirring continuously for 20 minutes.
Add Onion, tomato and salt. Stir for another 10 minutes.
Yummy GNut Sauce is ready. Garnish with cilantro before serving.
