A popular traditional variety rice prepared in S.India with the lemon Juice.
Servings: 4 Persons
Green chilly (4 nos, slitted)
Split Chenna dal (2 tsp) (kadalai paruppu)
Urad Dal (1tsp) (ulutham paruppu)
Lemon (2nos, juice extracted)
Fenugreek (1tsp) (vendayam)
Curry leaves (2 sprigs)
Turmeric Powder (¼tsp)
Asafoetita (2 pinches)
Salt (to taste)
Oil (4 tsp)
Heat 1tsp oil in a pan, fenugreek, fry in low flame. when ready, remove form fire & powder it coarsely. Keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan, add dals & mustard, wait till mustard sputters.
Add curry leaves, chilli, saute for a minute in medium flame, add lemon juice, salt, turmeric powder & saute well.
Add rice & fenugreek, mix well. Remove from flame.
