Idly fried with Gun Powder, a spicy & yummy breakfast / evening snack for all, especially for kids.

Servings: 4 Persons


Idly – 8nos (Click here for Idly recipe)

Onion – 1 chopped

Green chilli – 1 chopped

Mustard – ¼tsp

Urad Dhal – ¼tsp

Gun Powder – 4 tsp (Click here for recipe)

Curry Leaves – 1 sprig

Sesame Oil / Ghee – 4 tsp


Cut Idlies to 1inch cubes.

Heat oil/ghee in a pan, add mustard & dal, wait till it sputters.

Add Curry leaves, Clillies & onion, saute for a minute in low flame.

Add idlies & sprinkle gun powder, saute for a minute.


Dole out yummy hot Spicy Podi Idly.
