Sliced Potato marinated with chilli powder & Shallow fried in a pan, a good combination side-dish for rice.

Servings: 4 Persons


Potato Big – 1no

Home made Kulambu masala – 1½ tsp   (or chilli Powder – 1tsp, coriander powder-½tsp)

Garlic – 3 cloves, crushed

Oil – 5tsp

Salt – to tatse


Peel off the skins of Potato, chop them like wheels, ½cm thick.

In a bowl, mix crushed garlic, chilli masala powder & salt, sprinkle water and make it like a paste.

Add the chopped potato, to the bowl & mix well.

Heat oil in a pan, in medium flame, fry the potato well, both sides.


Dole out yummy hot spicy potato fry (Urulai Varuval), tastes good with Sambar, Rasam & Curd rice.
