A yummy authentic prawns fry available in all the restaurants of TN, fried with onion, tomato & crushed ginger, garlic. Stands best out of all Non-Veg dishes.

Servings: 4 Persons

Ingredients

Prawns (½kg, cleaned & fresh)

Onion (½kg, chopped finely)

Tomato (¼kg, chopped finely)

Ginger (3inch cube, crushed well)

Garlic (15cloves, crushed well)

Somb (2tsp, crushed well) (Snauf)

Turmeric Powder (½tsp)

Home made Kulambu Masala-4tsp or { Chilli Powder (2tsp) & Coriander powder (2tsp) }

Salt – to taste

Oil – 1cup

Curry leaves – 2 sprigs

Coriander leaves – 3 sprigs (chopped)

Method

Heat ½cup oil in a thick bottomed pan, add somb, ginger, garlic and saute well.

Add Onion, Saute for 5 minutes in low flame.

Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, chilli masala, salt, saute well, till the raw smell goes off.

Add prawns and remaining oil, fry for 10 minutes, in medium flame. Stir often.

When ready, add curry leaves & coriander leaves, saute once.

Servings

Dole out yummy prawns masala with rice / chapathi / dosai.
