Mint Chutney (Pudhina Thuvayal)

Fresh mint leaves grinded with ginger coconut and red chillies, gives you a yummy taste.

Servings: 4 Persons


Mint leaves (2 hands full)

Gingely oil (1tsp)

Mustard (¼tsp)

Split Urad Dal (½tsp)

Dry Red Chillies (6nos)

Tamarind (½ lemon size)

Ginger (1inch cube)

Coconut (½cup, grated)

Salt (to taste)


Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, split urud dal, dry red chillies, saute, wait till mustard sputters.

Add the cleaned mint leaves, saute for a minute in low flame..

Remove and add to the Electric blender, along with grated Coconut, Salt, Ginger & Tamarind.

Grind to paste with less water. 


Dole out mint thuvayal with Hot Rice or Idly / Dosa..
