Made up of Kerala Red rice, garnished with grated coconut & sugar, a tasty & healthy food..
Servings: 4 Persons
Red Rice (1½cups)
Grated Coconut (1cup)
Cardamon (2 crushed)
Sugar or Jaggery
Soak Rice for 3 hours in water (Red Raw rice or Raw rice)
Wash & Drain the water and dry it in shade for 10 minutes in a dry cloth.
Using electric mixer grind to powder.
(Skip the above & buy PUTTU MAAVU – available in shops now)
Grate coconuts and keep aside.
Add crushed cardamon to the Puttu Powder.
Heat water in Puttu Vessel or idly pan.
Sprinkle grated coconut and then add one handful of puttu powder(let it be Power wet, or else sprinkle water) as shown in the image.
Boil for 10 minutes.
Enjoy with Sugar or Jaggery or with Palm Sugar
Goes good with Masal Vadai or with Nendram Banana or with Kadalai Kurma.
