Thuvaiyal / Chutney is a simple recipe, ingredients grinded to paste, can be used as a side-dish or can be mixed up with rice.
Servings: 4 Persons
Urad Dal – 4tsp (uluntham paruppu)
Coconut – ¼cup grated
Red Chillies – 6nos
Tamarind – small gooseberry size
Salt to taste
Gingerly Oil – 1tsp (Nal ennai)
Heat a thick bottomed pan.
Add 1tsp oil, roast Urad Dal in low flame for 3 minutes, add coconut & red chillies.
Saute well, will the dal colour changes to golden orange.
Use electric mixer, grind all the above ingredients, with very less water.
Dole out yummy Thuvayal/Chutney, a yummy side-dish for Idly / Dosa & the best for Rice.
